We swear this isn’t a trend. Purely a coincidence. Honest!
Our April 21 performance at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, to which we were greatly looking forward, has been cancelled. Unlike tomorrow’s show at The Living Room, this was not our idea.
Housing Works music promoter Alan Light let us down gently via e-mail today:
“with my absolute deepest regrets, i’m going to have to pull the plug on this show. have had multiple potential headliners agree to do it, then bail PLUS our events/marketing person at the store left for another job PLUS the email system at the store has been on the fritz for over a week meaning we’ve been unable to even tease any promotion of this show, and i just don’t think we can pull it off at this point. i feel awful, apologize for all inconvenience, and let’s please figure out another date we can set up for the coming months. in three-plus years of doing this series, this is the first time that everything just fell apart on me like this. i can’t thank you enough for agreeing to do this and i hope and pray we can work together soon, once i’ve reassembled the state of the store.”
Alan is such a sweet guy and we feel much worse for him than we do for ourselves.
And, of course, we feel bad for any of you, out there in Web land, who were planning to attend this performance. Join our mailing list and we’ll let you know when it’s rescheduled.
On the bright side, now we’ve got some free time on our hands to get ready for the Salt Mines live recording on April 28. More on that to come real soon.
