Spring Highlights:
*** Work continued on the second Sharp Things album; check our studio diary for the latest updates.

  • The Sharp Things’ trip to England was a smashing success, with the band playing to enthusiastic audiences in London and Moseley (Birmingham). Have a look at our photo gallery for a behind-the-scenes glimpse of TST’s goings-on across the pond.
  • The band returned to Joe’s Pub in NYC on May 28 for a sublime evening accenting the band’s quiet side and featuring young Miles Arntzen (son of sometime TST trumpeter Leif Arntzen, who also played) on drums, subbing for a vacationing Steve Gonzalez.
  • It was back to the future at Pete’s Candy Store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on June 23, as the three original Sharp Things—Perry Serpa, Jim Santo and Steve Gonzalez (aided and abetted by Claire Freeman on cello and Gretchen E. Petrus on french horn)—“reunited” for a nostalgic performance of songs from the band’s set circa 1997. Although lightly attended, the show was great fun, and thanks to the small complement of players, the three Things maintained their record of never being outnumbered by their audience!
