Just returned from Wilmington, North Carolina, and the 10th annual W.E. Festival and boy howdy did we have fun. The Soapbox is a great venue with a stage big enough to host all of us comfortably (for once) and Ronnie the genius soundman made us sound like a million bucks.
Extra-super-special thanks to W.E. Fest founder Kenyata Sullivan for making it all happen, and to the wonderful, warm, welcoming denizens of Wilmington for giving us so much love (and cheap beer — holy moley those $3.00, 24 oz. PBRs go a long way).
Kudos also to the fabulous bands who played the Fest along with us, especially those who shared the bill with us on Sunday night: Sabado Domingo, Meredith Bragg and the Terminals, Olivia Mancini and the Housemates, Skyline Rodeo and Sparks Fly From a Kiss. Oh, and Eyelight and Andy Bilinski were also amazing. Heck, just about everyone was great. Check ‘em out, they are all worth your attention. Tell ‘em we sent you.
A bunch of photos from W.E. Fest are on Flickr, including some shots of TST doing their stuff on stage at the Soapbox, and Pierre’s cross-eyed portraits.
Jim Testa has never missed a WE Fest; read his account over at Jerseybeat.com (more TST pix, too).
