2015: A year in review
We could never have imagined that, after 18 years together, 2015 would be among the most eventful and exciting years in the history of The Sharp Things. Here’s a recap.
January
Powerpopaholic names
Adventurer’s Inn one of the
top 125 albums of 2014.
Great reviews of the LP appear in Dagger and Popmatters
February
WTMD in Towson, Maryland, hosts an hour-long broadcast radio performance before an
SRO crowd at that station’s broadcast space.
We are invited to join The Church on 10 days of their U.S. tour.
March
Opening for The Church brings
TST music to sold-out crowds in Minneapolis, Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia, ending with back-to-back hometown shows at Bowery Ballroom and Rough Trade Brooklyn.
WXPN promotes an exclusive download of “Union Chapel,” the second single from
Adventurer’s Inn.
We perform live on WBJB.
EverybodyEverybody is announced as the title for our next album, the fourth and final installment in the Dogs Of Bushwick series.
April
We wrap up our radio campaign for
Adventurer’s Inn. which earned us spins on stations across the country.
A big crowd turns out for our appearance at Hi-Fi Bar (formerly Brownies).

On July 21,
Ropeadope Records announces the signing of The Sharp Things and the upcong release of
EverybodyEverybody.

September
Perry and James fly to London for two shows, opening for
Caravan Of Thieves and
The Polyphonic Spree. The latter performance leads to
TST being invited to open for the Spree on several U.S. dates.
October
We celebrate the
CMJ Music Marathon with a packed show at The Standard East Village with
Julietta and
Gracie And Rachel.
November
On tour with The Polyphonic Spree to Philadelphia, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, and Chicago; also an
International Pop Overthrow show at Bar Matchless in Brooklyn.
December
Final show of the year with
Lazy Lions at The Living Room.
