broadway star sits in, hot studio to mix "feast"

25 January 2007

Man oh Manischewitz! The excitement surrounding our third LP continues to build. Perry will be weighing in soon with the next installment of our recording diary, but in the meantime, two noteworthy news items:

Tony award-winning actor singer Michael Cerveris has recorded a vocal for the planned lead-off track on A Moveable Feast, “The Jumpers.” Cerveris originated the title role in the Broadway hit “Tommy” and in the late 90s, he starred in the smash cult hit “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on London’s West End, off-Broadway in New York and in Los Angeles. His vocal on “The Jumpers” (based on Nick Hornby’s novel, A Long Way Down, is unforgettable, say no more.

Alex Lipsen of red-hot Williamsburg-based studio Headgear Recording has signed on to mix our record. Headgear’s artist roster includes such luminaries as TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Son Volt and The National (not to mention Alex’s band, The Jealous Girlfriends) and we are thrilled to be working there.
