pop goes the symphony!

10 November 2006 by The Sharp Things the sharp things with the new york symphonic arts ensemble

Despite technical problems that had us gnashing our teeth, last night’s recording session with the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble was a smashing success.

Conductor Sybille Werner did a brilliant job, the orchestra played wonderfully, sound engineer Howard Post made it all sound great, and we met our goal of getting symphonic backing for five songs: “Driving In Manhattan In My Car”, “Rey”, “Through With Love”, “The Ocean Part 2” and “What’s The New Girl Wonder?” (Perry made a creative decision to not record the orchestra for “Stockholm Street”).
