In our 16+ years together, and after hundreds of live shows, The Sharp Things have never released a live album — until now!
Recorded by Grammy-winning producer/engineer Jon D’uva during the band’s September 26, 2013, performance at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO Brooklyn, Live At Galapagos Art Space is a nine-song retrospective of our career — and a glimpse of our future.
Included are songs from TST’s 2003 debut Here Comes The Sharp Things (the haunting, pastoral “Lament/A Million Things”), the acclaimed 2005 second LP Foxes & Hounds (“Homeless,” a perennial show stopper), and 2007’s A Moveable Feast (the darkly biting “An Ocean Part Deux” and a soaring rendition of “Storm King”).
The first half of our ambitious four-album series is represented by series namesake “Dogs Of Bushwick” from Green Is Good, and “Can’t Get Started,” the exciting lead-off to The Sharp Things’ latest, The Truth Is Like The Sun.
But wait, there’s more! Live At Galapagos Art Space also presents the first concert performances of two unreleased songs from the second half of the Dogs Of Bushwick series: the dreamy “There’s Been No One Since You” from album three, Adventurer’s Inn (set for release later this year), and “Family Day At The Lake,” a grandly orchestrated song that will appear on the fourth album.
Live At Galapagos Art Space is on sale now at the bargain price of $5.00 via our Bandcamp store. Listen here!
